Performance Dates: Fri, Oct 26th @ 8 pm, Sat, Oct. 27th @ 8 pm and Sun Oct 28th @ 2 pm 

Synopsis: During an ostentatious wedding reception at an estate in Knoxville, Tennessee, five reluctant, identically clad bridesmaids hide out in an upstairs bedroom, each with her own reason to avoid the proceedings below. As the afternoon wears on, these five very different women joyously discover a common bond in this wickedly funny, irreverent, and touching celebration of the women’s spirit. 

NOTE: This production contains adult language and situations and is intended for mature audiences. 

Character Descriptions: 

(5 women, 1 man. Please note: character ages are approximate and not set in stone.) 

Frances – a painfully sweet but sheltered fundamentalist Christian. (early – mid 20’s) 

Mindy – the cheerful, wise-cracking, lesbian sister of the groom. (mid to late 20’s) 

Georgeanne – her heartbreak over her own failed marriage triggers outrageous behavior. (late 20’s – early 30’s) 

Meredith – the bride’s younger sister, whose precocious rebelliousness masks a dark secret. (early – mid 20’s) 

Trisha – a jaded beauty whose die-hard cynicism about men is called into question. (early to mid 30’s) 

Tripp – a charming bad-boy usher to whom there is more than meets the eye (mid to late 20’s) 


Tuesday September 11th or Wednesday September 12th at 7:00 PM 

Note: At auditions, actors will read from the script. Sides will be provided at the audition. 

No monologue required. Please bring a picture and resume if you have one. 

Auditions will be held at the Golden West College Theater Arts complex, Room 209, 15751 Gothard Street at Center Avenue, Huntington Beach. Parking for the theater complex is in the Gothard Street student parking lot. There is no fee for parking for these auditions. 

Cast must be available to begin rehearsals Monday, September 17th @ 4:00 PM. Rehearsals will be Monday afternoons from 4-6 pm and Tuesday through Thursday evenings from 6:30PM to 9:30 PM. Cast members will be called only when needed. 

All cast required for tech week and performances, October 22-28. 

If cast in this production, actors must enroll in a 2-unit college course. 

Some Guest Artists exemptions are available. 

All Roles Open. All ethnicities encouraged to audition!
