Neil Labute’s play, The Shape of Things explores the dark undercurrents swarming below the surface of human interaction. What begins as a romantic, idealized ‘boy meets girl’ story ultimately evolves into a chilling exploration of human nature at its most sociopathic and destructive. Invoking the Bible, classical mythology, art theory, literature, and the conventions of dramatized romance, this play functions powerfully on several levels. Labute’s terrain is the battleground of the sexes, where the sincere desire for love conflicts with insecurity, vanity, and the viciousness of self-interest. The play concludes with an emotionally brutal ‘twist’ ending that is… twisted. Join us for what promises to be an unforgettable experience as we present one of the 21st centuries great plays by one of its most celebrated playwrights.

All roles are open. Auditions are open to everyone. Performers do not have to be enrolled Golden West College students to audition. A detailed audition notice, additional information and ticket information can be found at
